December 3, 1997, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee unanimously agreed to the inclusion of Lijiang ancient city, “the World Heritage List.”
Lijiang is located in the Jinsha River, a long history, beautiful scenery, magnificent natural environment, the descendants of the ancient Qiang, Naxi home. Old Town of Lijiang elevation 2,400 m, Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County is the center of the city, one of China’s historical and cultural city, is a national key scenic spots.
Surrounded by mountains and water in the Lijiang County, according to legend because of the shape of one big named Yan “in the town.” To explore its past, it was found had been forgotten this piece of “Gu Naxi kingdom,” since ancient times human beings have lives and breeds. Today’s master Naxi nationality, is a descendant of the ancient Qiang people south. In thousands of years of a long years, their hard labor, and build their beautiful homeland.
